The Conservative party came in for criticism on Thursday when it took out front-page adverts in local newspapers in areas where elections were being held
The four-page wraparound advert, which would have cost several thousand pounds in each publication, appeared like a normal newspaper front page with the headline āTheresa May for Britainā above a large picture of the prime minister. A line of much smaller type reveals it is an āadvertiserās announcementā.
