Different types of masts depending on the material can withstand various weather speeds. However, in situations where the wind speeds are above 25 mph, it is advisable to remove the flags.

Technical standards are not an exception to poles. Guarantee safety and durability, higher poles have a thicker diameter as opposed to shorter poles. The pole gauge is also an essential consideration, the more massive the pole, the higher the wind resistance. Different poles require special mounting procedures and equipment. These concerns should be practiced to ensure safety during and after installation.

Poles have technical specifications that differ from design, size and type of this member. These technical standards apply in safety, durability and at times cost of the pole. Taller poles are heavier and have thicker diameter, which makes withstand heavy wind. Shorter poles have thinner diameters and are not advisable for extreme conditions. Installation procedures are different depending on the pole type, size, and shape. Technical specifications must be observed to maximize safety and abide to standards requirements.

Poles are of different heights; fixed flag poles range between 6 meters to 12 meters and giant-free-standing poles reach up to 5 meters. Post height is determined by the size of a flag to fly. Huge flags will require taller poles while smaller flags will require shorter poles. Identifying flag size will aid in deciding the flagstaff to procure.

The height of a flagstaff is directly proportional to flag size. Giant poles are designed to hold smaller size flags and range up to 5 meters. Huge flags are hoisted on fixed staves that range between 5 meters to 12 meters. Be sure of the flag size before procurement of a pole.
