Hendricks tries to sound empowered but the ad essentially boils down to an image of a woman as a sexy pet
A small, livid mound of pink meaty chow sits on a black saucer like a pile of recently silenced tongues. Even the new high-gloss ad for Sheba cat food cant make the stuff look appetising. So the ad men (they could be women, but it seems highly unlikely) go with a side order of Christina Hendricks to improve the mise-en-scène. In a similar manner to Eva Longoria in her Sheba commercial back in 2012, Hendricks slinks around a noir apartment in the half-light, looking sassy while jazz plays in the background. She says that a woman gets what she wants the same way a cat does. Grooming and nuzzling seem key. Always let them know what you want, she says as she primps her hair and swans around her lounge in a tight dress and heels.
